Workforce Planning

What is Workforce Planning?

The Commissioner for Public Sector Employment'sĀ Guideline - A Planned Workforce states that workforce planning is to:

"Identify the workforce that is required to meet government objectives and implement workforce strategies to address these requirements (eg skills profiling, workforce analysis, forecasting and planning, special recruiting schemes, career and succession planning, agency workforce plans)."

The State Procurement Board has developed tools to assist public authorities with the recruitment of procurement practitioners within their agency. These tools should be used in conjunction with your specific agency workforce planning tools, to ensure the best outcome for the recruitment process.

The tools to assist with the recruitment process include:

  • Generic Job and Person Specifications; and
  • Recruitment Guides.

These tools can be accessed under the Generic Procurement Recruitment tab.
